Intelligence Is A Sword

This is the poem that has inspired the name of my blog. It was written in 2004 for Language Arts Enrichment.

Type: Extended Metaphor

- Intelligence-

Intelligence is a sword:
     Powerful, useful, and good to have.
         It cuts through large barriers of stupidity.

Shiny and sleek,
    It takes time to create,
       But when its complete
          You will beat those who wield sticks.

Counterbalanced
   For best performance,
     Makes it useful for many things

And those who are smart enough
    To wield the sword,
       Will rule us all...
